What My Students Have to Say About This Is UsMy students want to know the significance of this is us and how it can affect their lives. They are interested in this country and want to have an opinion of what it means to them. Some are taking the time to look at statistics and facts and putting together a character sketch of America. What they will learn from this essay may be new and even groundbreaking, but hopefully they will come away with some things to think about.If you would like to talk about statistics and facts, my students will tell you that they are looking at a popular opinion. These are ideas that are unpopular, but are things that they have not been told and might not have even thought about. After reading this essay, they will be thinking about these ideas and this is a great place to start.Their common side has always been what they think about now, but they will also have an opinion of something they have never thought about before. Some would rather go with their g ut than read anything further and other would rather write their opinions on paper. Either way, it is a good starting point.Many students are not used to writing something and they are finding it difficult when writing an essay that is about something outside of this country. Sometimes they are afraid that they will come off as being negative. Students want to tell the world what they think about and this is very important. It is a message that cannot be denied and one that needs to be heard. There is nothing wrong with expressing your thoughts and opinions.The more people you are able to get to read and hear about something that you feel strongly about, the better off you will feel. Why should this country be treated any different than anyone else? The college essay is not something that you are writing for a test or to make someone happy, but it is important that it makes a statement and hopefully it will help make a difference.Many families are torn apart between generations. The re is no reason to be because there is not one that feels that the other is ruining what the other has done. Some feel that the older generation has too much power, while others feel that it is the younger generation that has too much of a lot of empty promises. It is important that this is something discussed so that everyone understands why.This is the time to discuss the family and the role of the parents in the generation that they are born into. They should also talk about the importance of public policies and how it affects the way that things are handled in this country. Although many of them are not willing to speak out on this topic, they should know that they can share what they think with their families. That is how it should be and no one is standing in their way.Whether it is the first time for them to write a college essay or they are trying to get to know what is going on in the world, this is a wonderful opportunity for them to do so. My students will be so pleased t hat they took the time to take it seriously and that they took the time to read what it was all about. It is a great place to start and will leave them excited about what they learn.
